This is the strip that wipes the door glass as it rolls up and down, sitting along the top edge of the door skin inside and out. It's a thirty-dollar piece of trim that decides whether the car survives — when it wears through, water runs straight down inside the door.

Why this part is gone
Suzuki discontinued the belt moldings for the 1989–1994 cars in 2023 — both left and right. What remains in circulation is new-old-stock scattered across dealer shelves and parts houses worldwide, and it gets thinner every month.
The established reproduction manufacturers, the ones classic-car restorers rely on for weatherstripping, build for vintage American iron. Nobody is tooling up for a 1990s economy car. If this part is going to exist again, someone in the community has to make it — which is what Khasis is doing.

What to do until reproductions exist
Hunt NOS internationally, not just domestically
US listings are picked over. Stock still surfaces at Suzuki parts houses in other markets, where the platform sold under Swift and Cultus badges in much higher numbers. If you find a set, buy it — this isn't a part to think about overnight.
Know the difference between dirty and worn
A sweep that's merely packed with grit can be cleaned and the glass path re-lubricated, and it will keep sealing. A sweep with the flocking worn through to the carrier is finished — it's now scraping your glass and passing water. Look along the contact edge in good light before deciding.
Clear your door drains regardless
Whatever gets past the sweep needs somewhere to go. The drain holes along the bottom of the door shell clog with debris, and that's what turns a leaking sweep into rotted rockers. This is free and takes ten minutes.
THE CHAIN THAT KILLS THESE CARS
Worn sweep → water enters the door → clogged drains hold it → rocker panels and floor rot from the inside out. By the time it's visible from outside, it's structural. Sealing is the actual rust prevention on this platform, which is why it's the first thing Khasis is reproducing rather than something flashier.
Questions
Are the Swift and Firefly sweeps the same part?
These were the same car with different badges, so the door hardware is shared — one reproduction serves all five nameplates. Badge-by-badge fitment is being confirmed against factory sources before it's published as fact. See the interchange guide.
Can I use universal window sweep from a parts store?
Universal sweep exists but rarely sits at the correct height or clips to this door's flange properly, so it tends to seal poorly and look worse. It's a stopgap, not a repair.
I have a set of NOS sweeps. Are you buying?
Yes, and a loan is worth more to you than a sale. Fresh, uncompressed OE is the ideal measurement master for reverse-engineering. Loan one and it comes back insured with a full measurement report, plus 25% off the finished reproduction and your name in the contributor register. Details here.
