SECTION 300/400/600 · SEALING · KP-DRY-KIT

Geo Metro Door Seal & Weatherstrip Kit

The complete sealing system for 1989–1994 Geo Metro, Suzuki Swift, Suzuki Cultus, Pontiac Firefly and Holden Barina. Everything between you and the weather, in one box.

Worn weatherstripping isn't a comfort problem on these cars — it's how they die. Water gets past a failed belt molding into the door, the drains clog, and the rocker panels rot from the inside where nobody sees it until it's structural. Fix the sealing and you've done the most effective rust prevention available to this platform.

WHY FRESH OE MASTERS MATTER

Reverse-engineering rubber from a 30-year-old part reproduces 30 years of compression set — you'd be manufacturing a seal that's already collapsed. Every profile in this kit is measured from fresh OE stock sourced from global Suzuki parts houses, so the reproduction matches the part as designed rather than as degraded.

Why nobody else makes this

The established reproduction houses — the ones restorers rely on for weatherstripping — serve vintage American iron. Nobody tooled up for a 1990s economy car, and Suzuki discontinued the belt moldings for both sides in 2023, so the remaining supply is scattered NOS that gets scarcer every month.

That's the entire reason Khasis exists. This kit is the flagship because it covers every body style, crosses all five badges from one set of tooling, and fits the founder's own 1994 Metro — which is the test car, the measurement reference and the fitment sign-off.

Questions

Can I use generic hardware-store weatherstripping instead?

Owners have tried it for decades and the results are consistently poor. Automotive door seals use a specific bulb geometry on a carrier that clips to a pinch weld — generic adhesive foam has no carrier, sits at the wrong height, and typically holds water against the paint. It also can't seal the glass, which is where much of the leaking actually happens.

My seals look intact. Do I still need them?

Possibly not yet. Original seals on these cars are usually still present but shrunken and compression-set, meaning the glass no longer reaches them. Before buying anything, try adjustment — door hinges, window vertical stops, guide rails. The leak diagnosis guide walks through it. If adjustment doesn't close the gap, the rubber is done, because compression set doesn't reverse.

Will you sell the pieces separately?

The hatch seal and belt moldings are planned as standalones. The kit exists because the components fail together and replacing one against three worn neighbors usually just relocates the leak.

What about the convertible top seals?

Queued behind this kit. The tooling and vendor relationships from the hardtop kit carry directly over to the convertible work, so doing them in this order gets vert owners a better part sooner. Logged requests move it up the queue.
