Every one of these cars has the same cracked plastic ring around the interior door handle. Thirty years of sunlight through the door glass makes the original brittle, and it usually finishes breaking the first time somebody pries at it to pull the door card. Nobody reproduces it — until now.

What makes this one different
The obvious way to reproduce a 30-year-old plastic part is to 3D scan it and print the scan. That produces a faithful copy of a warped, shrunken, UV-degraded part — you'd be manufacturing the failure along with the shape.
This one was scanned for reference, then remodeled to true dimensions, with the critical features driven off caliper measurements rather than mesh geometry: screw boss centers, handle aperture, and the door-card mating plane. The scan defines the envelope; the numbers define the fit.
Material matters as much as geometry here. PLA is disqualified on glass transition temperature alone — a closed car in a Utah July exceeds it, and a snap-fit part will creep and deform. This is printed in ASA: UV-stable, roughly 105 °C glass transition, and chemically the same family as the ABS used for original automotive interior trim. Print orientation is set so the retention tabs load across layers rather than between them, which is where a printed snap feature actually fails.

ON PART NUMBERS
The factory number above is deliberately masked. Khasis publishes a part number only after it's confirmed against a factory source or read off a physical part — an unverified number in a catalog is worse than no number, because someone orders against it. Removing the original without breaking it
Worth knowing even if you're replacing it, because the door card comes off the same way. Owners have documented the technique on the community forums for years, and the failure mode is always the same: people pry at the wrong point.
- Pull outward on the bezel with your fingers until the two top retention tabs are visible. One is noticeably wider than the other.
- Slip a small flat-blade screwdriver against the outside of the tabs and lift gently. Prying from the inside is what snaps them.
- Once the top tabs release, wiggle the bezel and the lower tabs will pop free.

Questions
Will this fit a Suzuki Swift or Pontiac Firefly?
The interior door trim is shared across the badges on this platform — Metro, Swift, Cultus, Firefly and Barina were the same car with different emblems. Fitment is being verified badge by badge before it's stated as fact rather than assumed, which is the standard applied to every Khasis fitment claim.
Is a 3D printed part strong enough for this?
For a trim bezel, yes — it carries no structural load, only retention clip force. The parts that matter are material choice and print orientation, not infill percentage. ASA handles the heat and UV that killed the original; orienting the tabs so they load across layer lines rather than between them is what prevents the snap features failing.
When will the left-hand side be available?
After the right-hand side passes fitment sign-off on the test car. Handed interior trim isn't always a simple mirror — Suzuki sometimes issued distinct part numbers with non-symmetric geometry — so LH is being verified separately rather than mirrored and assumed.
Can I order one now?
